Wednesday, August 5, 2009 – Tokyo Sushi has re-opened!!!

Thursday, February 19, 2009 – Three fire departments combined efforts late last night to fight a one-alarm blaze at a sushi restaurant. Tokyo Sushi at 3729 S. Lindbergh Boulevard was gutted in the blaze, said Mehlville’s Deputy Chief Jim Hampton.

The fire broke out after the restaurant had closed. No one was injured while fighting the fire, Hampton said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire crews from Mehlville, Crestwood and Fenton responded. They spent about two hours at the scene, doing follow-up and making sure no hotspots remained in the restaurant walls.

Someone noticed smoke and called police about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday.

Sung Wang, one of the restaurant’s owners, said she had no idea how it started. She said the restaurant has been at that location about five years.
